Week 2 Recap

SCWHL

Three games featuring lopsided scores comprised Week Two of the SCWHL regular season.
The weekend began with the South Fraser TNT dominating the Surrey Wildcats in a 6-0 victory Friday night at the Cloverdale Arena.
Veteran defender Jackie Sollis paced the TNT with three goals, with former Wildcat forward Megan Jokai adding a pair. Four-time SCWHL all-star Shea Weighill contributed with one goal, while netminder Jenn Price made 22 saves for the shutout.
The TNT have two wins in as many games to start the season, but are third in the SCWHL standings with five pints, one back of the Island Surge and four behind the Meadow Ridge Moose.
Payge Pena and Sydney Langston netted two goals each Saturday night at the Langley Sportsplex, leading the defending regular season champion Moose to a 7-1 win over the defending provincial champion North Shore Rebels.
Leah Saban, Natalie Richardson and Emily Bajkov also tallied for the Moose, with Rebecca Brunswick-Werner netting the lone goal for North Shore.
The Moose are in first place with three regulation-time wins in as many starts.
The Richmond Devils ran all over the Fraser Valley Jets for an 8-1 win Saturday at the Richmond Ice Centre. Ashley Specht – last season’s SCWHL scoring champion – tallied four goals and assisted on one other.
Hazel Barthel recorded a three-point game that included a pair of goals. Stefanie Costales and Nicole Lim also scored for Richmond, with Shay Gronnemose replying for the Jets.
Richmond is fourth in the SCWHL standings with one win and one loss after two games, both of which were decided in regulation time.
