Week 10: Jets take two on Island

A pair of wins on the road pushed the Fraser Valley Jets over the .500 mark, and lifted them past the Kamloops Vibe into fourth place in the SCWHL standings after Week 10.
The Island Surge had a shots-on-goal advantage in both contests, but managed just three goals against the Jets, and fell by scored of 4-2 and 3-1.
Fraser Valley took a 3-1 lead into the final period Saturday night at the Panorama Rec Centre, but had to hang on for the win. Eilidh Macdonald netted her third goal of the season for the Surge with 90 seconds to play and the home side outshooting the Jets 15-7 over the final 20 minutes.
Jackie Lang put the game away with her second goal of the game with six seconds remaining. Silvia Traversa and Athena Rados also scored for Frasrer Valley, with Eastlyn Bellamy adding one for the Surge.
Stacey Wilson stopped 38 of 40 shots in the Fraser Valley net,
The next afternoon at the Shawnigan Lake Arena, the Jets were outshot 26-18, but got the win as Wilson stopped 25 shots.
Keasha Dahlstedt scored two first-period goals for Fraser Valley, with Lang adding another in he second frame. Nicole Constable was the lone scorer for the Surge, as she netted her fourth goal of the season.
Fraser Valley is 7-6-1 on the season, and are now three points up on the Vibe, who have played two fewer games. 
The Meadow Ridge Moose continue to lead the league, remaining undefeated with a 10-2 victory over the South Fraser TNT.
Natalie Richardson netted three goals for the Moose, with Sydney Kreps scoring twice. Emily Bajkov, Emily Duchak, Leeny Adelsberger, Shay-Lee McConnell and Whitney Dove scored once each fir Meadow Ridge.
Jackie Sollis and Michelle Ziegler netted the TNT goals.
Alex Strehlau recorded her first shutout for the season for the Richmond Devils, making 20 saves in a 4-0 win over the Surrey Wildcats Sunday afternoon at Langley Twin Rinks.
Ashley Specht with a pair, Hazel Barthel and Marissa Chau scored for Richmond, in third place at 9-3.
