Vibe edge Devils, advance to semifinal

The Kamloops Vibe clinched the final place in the South Coast Women’s Hockey League playoff tournament with a 3-2 win with the Richmond Devils in the final round robin game of the competition Saturday afternoon.
The Vibe got the winning goal from Ashley McCabe into an empty net with 13 seconds to play,
The Devils, needing a win to move on, got off to a quick 2-0 lead on goals by Ashley Specht and Melissa Phillips. Kamloops pulled even after Rochelle Haywood-Farmer scored midway through the first frame and Emily Edmunson tallied a tying goal early in the second,
The Vibe will face the North Shore Rebels in the second semifinal Saturday night at 7:30 p.m.
The North Shore Rebels topped Pool B with a 3-2 win Saturday morning over the South Fraser TNT.
After Megan Taylor opened the scoring for the Rebels, South Fraser took a 2-1 lead after one period on goals by Alisha Choy and Hannah Charlesworth.
Taylor scored her second goal of the game last in the second period to tie the game, then Danika Carter netted the winner with seven minutes left in the game,
North Shore fired 51 shots at the TNT net, all but three stopped by TNT netminder Melinda Choy.
TNT will face-off against the Meadow Ridge Moose in the first semifinal at 5:15 p.m.
