Specht named SCWHL Most Outstanding Player

Ashley Specht has repeated as the Most Outstanding Player in the South Coast Women’s Hockey League.
The Richmond Devils forward was presented with the award, as well as her second consecutive Scoring Champion Trophy, at the SCWHL awards presentation Saturday morning at the playoff tournament in Chilliwack.
Specht led the league in scoring with 35 goals and 15 assists. She played in all 28 regular season games for the Devils.
Cassidy Bell of the Kamloops Vibe won her second Most Outstanding Defender award. Bell led all blueliners in scoring with nine goals and 23 points in 15 games played. She also won the award in the 2021-22 season while playing with the North Shore Rebels.
Also winning an award for the second time was Megan Buchanan of the Meadow Ridge Moose, voted the Most Outstanding Goaltender for the second time. Buchanan won her first award in 2021-22.
Specht, Bell and Buchanan are First-Team All-Star selections. Other members of the First-Team All-Stars are forward Jess Sibley of the Rebels, and forward Payge Pena and defender Kirsten Langston of the Moose.
For Langston, it was her seventh consecutive all-star award, six of which are first-team selections.
The SCWHL Second-Team All-Stars are Emily Costales of Richmond, Brie Bellerive of Meadow Ridge, Kirsten Martin of the Fraser Valley Jets, defenders Whitney Dove of the Moose and Jackie Sollis of the South Fraser TNT, and netminder Ashley Fisher of Kamloops.
