A rematch for Moose, Rebels in SCWHL championship game

The defending champion Meadow Ridge Moose have advanced to the championship game of the South Coast Women’s Hockey league playoff tournament in Chilliwack, defeating the South Fraser TNT 3-1 in the first of two semifinal games Saturday evening at the Sardis Sports Complex.
The TNT got on the board first with a goal from Natalie Knight.
Meadow Ridge got a pair of goals from Shay-Lee McConnell before the opening period was over to take the lead, then added an insurance goal in the second frame.
The Moose will seek a second consecutive BC Hockey Senior AA championship when they face-off against the North Shore Rebels at 12:15 p.m. Sunday afternoon.
The Rebels, the runner-up team to the Moose a year ago, defeated the Kamloops Vibe 3-1 in the other semifinal.
Megan Taylor scored twice and Simran Sidhu added a single to give North Shore a 3-0 lead. Jenna Ormondy notched the Vibe goal with six minutes to play.
