Richmond Devils
Lauren Miller collected five points in two games, leading the Richmond Devils to a pair of wins over the Island Surge in Victoria.
A member of the NCAA’s Bemedji State Beavers in Minnesota from 2013 to 2017, Miller scored an empty net goal in a 3-0 victory Saturday night, then added three goals and an assist in a 6-2 victory Sunday morning.
With four goals and five points after play in Week One, Miller leads the SCWHL scoring race.
Second Star of the Week: Emily Bajkov
Meadow Ridge Moose
Emily Bajkov netted two goals and added three helpers for the Meadow Ridge Moose in a pair of road games against the Kamloops Vibe.
Bajkov assisted on the lone Moose goal in Saturday’s 3-1 loss, then scored twice and added a pair of assists in a 4-1 victory Sunday morning.
Third Star of the Week: Jenna Ehling
Richmond Devils
Richmond Devils goalie Jenna Ehling backstopped her team to a pair of wins in Victoria, lifting her team to first place after Week One.
Ehling made 17 saves in a 3-0 victory Saturday night at the Panorama Rec Centre, then stopped 12 of 14 shots in a 6-2 triumph Sunday morning in Esquimalt.
After two games, Ehling has a league-best 1.15 goals against average and is ranked second with a .935 save percentage.
