The provincial government has adopted new COVID-19 protocols which will affect players, coaches, team officials and on-ice officials who will participate in South Coast Women’s Hockey League games, practices and other events.
By order of the Provincial Health Officer (PHO), proof of vaccination will be required to access indoor recreation facilities (including ice rinks) and to participate in high-intensity sports.
This will take effect on Sept. 13, 2021 and will remain in place until January 31, 2022, subject to extension. Starting Sept.13, participants must have at least one dose of a COVID-19 vaccine. By Oct. 24, participants must be fully vaccinated.
All SCWHL teams should ensure all participants (players, coaches, bench staff etc.) are aware of this information.
More information is on the B.C. Government website at https://www2.gov.bc.ca/gov/content/covid-19/vaccine/proof
The SCWHL will forward further information as it becomes available.
