Riding a 28-save shutout from Jenna Ehling, the Richmond Devils upset the Kamloops Vibe 1-0 Friday afternoon at the Tourism Hope / SCWHL Provincial Championship Tournament at the Hope and District Arena.
Ivana Bilic netted the game’s only goal, scoring eight minutes into the game, the first of three in Pool B.
Ashley Fisher stopped 25 of the 26 shots she faced in the Kamloops net.
Both the Vibe and Devils will face-off against the Meadow Ridge Moose in their final games of the quarterfinal round robin.  Kamloops will play the Moose tonight, with Richmond playing their game against Meadow Ridge tomorrow (Saturday) morning.
Two of the three teams in the group will advance to Saturday night’s semifinal round.
The first game of the tournament saw the defending champion North Shore Rebels held to a 1-1 draw by the South Fraser TNT.
Jessica Sibley gave the Rebels a 1-0 lead after just six minutes of play, but the TNT drew even when Alisha Choy scored midway through the second period.
Both netminders were unbeatable the rest of the way, with Samantha Levy making 26 saves in the North Shore goal and Melinda Choy stopping 25 shots for South Fraser.
North Shore faces off against the Fraser Valley Jets tonight, while the TNT will play the Jets tomorrow morning.
