Lauren Miller moved into first place in the SCWHL scoring race with a five-point game against the Burnaby Mountain Capitals at Planet Ice – Coquitlam on Sunday evening. Miller scored four goals in a 7-4 victory, raising her league-best total to 12 in 10 games played. The former Bemedji State Beavers forward leads the SCWHL with 12 goals, nine assists and 21 points.
Second Star: Lindsay DiPietro (Fraser Valley Jets)
Five points in two games has vaulted Lindsay DiPietro into third place among the leading SCWHL scorers. The Fraser Valley Jets forward netted all three goals for her team in a 5-3 loss to the South Fraser TNT Saturday evening at Planet Ice – Coquitlam. The former Wayne State Warrior added a goal and two assists in Sunday’s 5-1 triumph over the league-leading Kamloops Vibe at Planet Ice – Delta. In seven games played with the Jets, DiPietro has nine goals and 14 points.
Third Star: Ashley Fisher (Kamloops Vibe)
Playing three games in less than 48 hours, netminder Ashley Fisher posted a 2.00 goals against average with a .945 save percentage, helping the Kamloops Vibe earn three of a possible six points in Week Nine to extend their lead atop the SCWHL standings. Fisher made 18 saves in a 4-0 win over the second-place South Fraser TNT Friday night at the Langley Sportsplex, earning her league-best third shutout of the season. She then stopped all but one of 30 shots she faced n a 1-1 tie with the Richmond Devils at the Richmond Ice Centre on Saturday evening. In Sunday’s game at Planet Ice – Delta, Fisher was tested 61 times in a 5-1 setback to the Fraser Valley Jets.
