The Fraser Valley Jets have stretched their win streak to four games and have taken over sole possession of first place in the SCWHL.
The Jets stopped the North Shore Rebels 5-2 Sunday afternoon at Planet Ice Delta – improving their record to 4-1-0 (win-loss-tie), and a winning percentage of .800.
Melanie Jue and Lisa Mullen each scored twice for the Jets, with Marianne Cloutier adding a single. Stacey Wilson stopped 24 of 26 shots in the Fraser Valley net for the win.
Cassidy Bell netted both goals for the Rebels. Making her first start of the season, Ashley Smith faced 44 shots in the North Shore goal.
The Rebels dropped to 1-3-3 on the season.
North Shore also played Thursday night, facing off at home against the Meadow Ridge Moose at Moody Park Arena in New Westminster, playing to a 1-1 tie.
The Rebels outshot the Moose 31-24, but only managed one goal, scored by Jess Sibley with an assist from Cassidy Bell midway through the second period. Kirsten Langston tied the game for Meadow Ridge in the last minute of the second period.
Megan Buchanan stopped 30 shots in the Moose net, while North Shore goalie Kira Richardson made 23 saves.
