First Star: Payge Pena (Meadow Ridge Moose)
Payge Pena scored twice and added three assists to lead the Moose to a 6-0 triumph over the TWU Spartans Saturday evening at the Langley Events Centre.
She now leads the SCWHL scoring race with four goals and eight assists in four games played.
Second Star: Carlyn Shimizu (South Fraser TNT)
After scoring twice in six games as a skater, Carlyn Shimizu played goal Saturday against the Fraser Valley Jets when the TNT’s regular netinder were unavailable. Shimizu made 28 saves on 30 shots to keep South Fraser in the game before falling 3-1.
Third Star: Madeline Cockrill (Meadow Ridge Moose)
Madeline Cockrill more than doubled her season’s points total, collecting four in a win over the Spartans. Cockrill scored her first two goals if the season and added two helpers.
She is now tied for sixth in the SCWHL scoring race with two goals and seven points in six games played.
